Our Top 5 iPhone and iPad Apps of the Week rankings are a little light this week with only two apps meeting our criteria. Regardless, they're pretty interesting. Up first, Moldiv – Collage Photo Editor is a collage making app (not surprising from the title) that the pro reviews praise for its variety of options, intuitiveness, speed and powerful features. It nets out at a 90 AppScore and being free and universal, is definitely worth a look. Our other app this week is Unibookworm - students recycling unwanted books with a 75 AppScore. Remember all those heavy textbooks back in college? Remember getting a little bit of cash for them when you sold them back to the school bookstore? Well this app aims to do the same thing. Right now it's a UK only service, but hopefully they'll bring it stateside soon so students can sell some of those books the college bookstore never takes. Those are the two apps that made our list this week, have at em and let us know your thoughts.

Leading off our Top 5 iPhone and iPad Apps of the Week is a productivity and lifestyle app with a 95 AppScore. My.Agenda is an all-in-one organizer that combines appointments, todos, reminders and tasks. The pro reviews call it a good bang for your buck when it comes to management apps and I definitely think it would come in handy for organizing my life. Next we have three apps tied for second with a 90 AppScore. Cooking Basics is an app that does what it's title suggests. Yes this app is right up my alley, I need a 101 in cooking with simple instructions. Here the pro reviews praise it for it's simplicity and multimedia teaching experience. Another app with a 90 AppScore is The Visible City, a travel and education app about Vancouver's history. It's made by the Museum of Vancouver and the pro reviews say its augmented reality is an amazing way to experience a walking tour of the city. Our final app in second is one for little kids. The app is Little Red Riding Hood by Nosy Crow and is a choose-your-own-adventure style ebook that provides a twist on the traditional Little Red Riding Hood storyline. Kids can choose from 8 different story paths and play games embedded in the stories. I think this app could be great for my young nieces. Closing out our top list is FocusTwist with an 83 AppScore. It's a photo app that the pro reviewers say can replace the purchase of an expensive $400 Lytro camera! Say one area is in focus but not another, well you can change that even after the picture is taken. I'm not a photographer but it still sounds like a pretty cool piece of technology. There you have it, our top apps for the week. Let us know your thoughts.

We're kicking off our Top 5 iPhone and iPad Apps of the Week with a tie for first at a 91 AppScore. Yahoo! Weather is just what it sounds like. The pro reviews call it a must for both it's comprehensive weather reports and beautiful design. I love it and have made it my primary weather app. Also in first, Scan and Protect: quickly scan and secure documents is another app that does what it's title suggests. Here the pro reviews praise it's level of security including the fact that data is stored on your device rather than in the cloud. In third with a 90 AppScore, Wee You-Things is one for the kids. It's an ebook aimed at teaching kids to appreciate and accept our differences. Sounds like a lesson a lot of us could use. In fourth we have another kids education app: Nutrition and Healthy Eating ! with an 87 AppScore. It has some game elements but makes it on the list due to education being its primary category. Either way, its goal of teaching proper nutrition is admirable. Trial of the Clone is our final app of the week and has an 85 AppScore. It's a mix of a book and game (more on the interactive book side from the looks of the screenshots) that features voice over by Wil Wheaton. If you're a fan of his, this is one to grab. That's our weekly list of five apps for you. Have you tried any of them?

So this week we have three apps in our Top 5 iPhone and iPad Apps of the Week series. Three because only three met our AppScore and release date criteria. In first with an 88 AppScore we have Camp Myth. It's a kids/young adults eBook that's based on a series of physical books. The setting reminds me of Harry Potter set in modern day so if your child is into wizards, you might want to check this one out. Next up we have The Thirty-Nine Steps with an 85 AppScore. It's also an eBook/app based on a physical book but this one has a much different setting and audience. It takes place in London, 1914 and is an interactive murder mystery you help solve. From the screenshots I'd say it looks more like an app than a book but that's not a bad thing as the pro reviews indicate it's a great mix of story, interactivity and visuals. With an 80 AppScore, our third and final app this week is Monkey Math - Jetpack Adventure. It's a kids education app geared towards teaching, well - as the title indicates, math. It does this through a series of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division skill tests (some might call them games). There are 65 levels and kids have to solve equations to pass them. So whether you consider this a game or an education (the official category) app is probably up to you but either way kids have a good chance of improving their math skills. That's it for this week. Come back next when we'll have a new set for you.

1.
Camp Myth

From the app description: "Based on the recent Camp Myth book series, this all-new visual novel allows you to experience the fun of earning amazing merit badges. Whether it's Golem Building, Kelpie Racing, or Basilisk Tracking, there's always something happening on the grounds!"

Check out a quote from The iPhone App Review: "Considering the amount of detail that has been put into Camp Myth and the fact that it’s universally compatible with both iPad and iPhone, I can’t recommend this app enough if you’re looking for fun new books for your child" (April 16, 2013).

2.
The Thirty-Nine Steps
The Thirty-Nine Steps 85
$6.99: iPad

From the app description: "It’s London, 1914, and Richard Hannay is framed for a murder he did not commit. Now he must escape the capital and stay alive long enough to solve the riddle of The Thirty-Nine Steps. Immerse yourself in an incredible story: the perfect pairing of great writing and the latest digital storytelling technology. "

Check out a quote from 148Apps: "Capturing the intrigue and mystery of the original book, The Thirty-Nine Steps is a visual and aural feast for interactive novel fans" (April 24, 2013).

Last week we only had two apps for you but this week we have a full slate in our Top 5 iPhone and iPad Apps of the Week. Our first place app is Yellofier with a 95 AppScore. What is it? It's a music creation app that aims to simplify the creative process and from the demo video I watched and the pro reviews, it seems to do a good job of that. In second with an 83 AppScore is Mylifepaper. Essentially it's a mobile social network where you create a personal digital newspaper via your photos, videos, opinions, plans and so on and are then able to share that newspaper with friends. The remaining three apps this week are all tied for third with an 80 AppScore. Poems By Heart from Penguin Classics is a poetry memorization game. I know, games aren't supposed to make this list but it's officially classified as book / education app. Anyway, a little poetry never hurt anyone and according to the pro reviews this is one of the better poetry apps on the App Store. PopAGraph's goal is to change up your photos beyond the standard filters so prevalent in most photo apps. It focuses on things like frames, 3D effects, drop shadows, backdrops and more. From the screenshots it looks like it achieves this goal. Our final third place app of the week is a kids eBook called Meek-a-Moo that's geared towards teaching kids all about animals. The graphics are definitely kid friendly and it's cool that you can flip between English and Spanish. So there you have it, five iOS apps for you. Come back next week to see more and, as always, let us know your thought below!

1.
Yellofier
Yellofier 95
FREE: iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch (Universal)

From the app description: "Yellofier makes anything into music. Record your voice, a musical instrument or everyday noises. Within seconds the app magically turns them into groovy music. Edit the sounds and effects by moving and twisting colored blocks. Yellofier doesn’t look like any other music program. You can create a full song within minutes – even without knowing anything about music!"

Check out a quote from Mac|Life: "The bottom line. A commercial app of this depth and breadth would be a revelation, but for free, it’s just short of miraculous. Yellofier is an instant iOS classic" (April 16, 2013).

2.
Mylifepaper
Mylifepaper 83
FREE: iPhone

From the app description: "Gather daily moments of your life into your own mobile newspaper with Mylifepaper. Publish important milestones and everyday happenings via photos, videos, & text all while staying in the loop with friends and family simply by following each of their newspapers too!"

Check out a quote from The iPhone App Review: "Overall I would highly recommend checking out the app. Not only to we like it here at TheiPhoneAppReview.com but it is also rated 4.5 Stars on iTunes, is free, and is optimized for the iPhone 5" (April 14, 2013).

We're a little light this week with only two apps meeting the requirements for our Top 5 iOS Apps of the Week series so let's dive right in. The two apps we have are actually tied for first with an 85 AppScore. Curved Text on Photo is what it's title sounds like plus more. You can free draw the line you want the text to go on or use built in shapes like a wave, arc, bell, horizontal/vertical line, semi circle, circle or rectangle to guide the text. It also has lots of fonts, photo filters and stickers to further customize your photos. Our other app tied for first is Swift Shopper. It's an interesting idea. Essentially in-store you scan the barcodes of the items you're buying. Then at the cashier instead of giving them each item you simply let them scan the barcodes on your phone. I have some question as to whether a store will let you do this, but the idea behind it is definitely cool and it's free so can't hurt to try. That's it for this week, just two apps. Check back next week when we should have five more and if you pick up either of these apps, let us know what you think below.

T1.
Curved Text on Photo
Curved Text on Photo 85
$1.99: iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch (Universal)

From the app description: "[Curved Text] helps you to add beautiful curved texts on your photo. With tons of curve shapes, text styles, artistic fonts and background templates, you can add unique texts in ways you've never imagined. You can also apply effects, frames and stickers to your photo with powerful photo editor."

Check out a quote from AppAdvice: "This app is feature rich. The curved text creator makes it worth the price tag alone, but the comprehensive photo editor makes it a bargain." (March 27, 2013).

T1.
Swift Shopper
Swift Shopper 85
FREE: iPhone iPod touch

From the app description: "With Swift Shopper scan all your items into your phone as you put them into your cart. Checkout with your smartphone and scan the barcodes right off the screen! No need to take any items out of your cart, just hand the cashier your cell phone and a few swipes of the screen later you're checked out!"

Check out a quote from The iPhone App Review: "It’s an innovative concept, and thankfully, it’s one that seems to work quite solidly, too" (April 8, 2013).

In third with a 91 AppScore is Home Maintenance by BrightNest - Home Organization, Cleaning Schedule, DIY Crafts and Home Design. Coming in fourth with an 80 AppScore is Couch Music Player, it's a music app that aims to simplify the way you create playlists and and access your music library. I assume this app would come in handy for people that have large music libraries or households with multiple people using one iPad. This week we have two cool apps that I will definitely use in our Top 5 iOS Apps of the Week. If you want to create works of art out of your photos, you will like our first app: Repix with an 84 AppScore. The app allows you to stylize and color-in your photos. It's almost like you get to paint your photos. I like this app in that it goes beyond just adding an effect. I can get a little more creative with my photos using it. Our second app is CaptureAudio with an 83 AppScore. It's a productivity app that records voice memos and helps you organize and flag important sections in your recordings. This app would come in very handy during the extension class I'm currently taking. Definitely it would be an assist for me in remembering lectures and studying for exams! So there you go, two apps for you. Let us know what you think!

More importantly, while recording you can quickly and easily mark significant points with audio markers called "Flags" to immediately start playing from that moment during playback. There are two standard flag sets for business and education (with flags like "urgent" and "test item" respectively) but you can create as many of your own, custom flag sets as you'd like. With CaptureAudio, you can stop forgetting and start capturing. It's the voice memo app in a way you've never experienced it before."

We have a couple of ties in our Top 5 iOS Apps of the Week that starts with two first place apps at 90 AppScore: FashionClyp helps you stay on top of fashion with trends, flash sales, local deals and social features and Facetune focuses on touching up portrait photos with features like blemish removal, wrinkle removal, hair recoloring, eye enhancement and more. Sounds like if you get both of these apps you can really look and dress the part, ha! In third place with an 88 AppScore we have Incredimail - Email App for iPad which is just what its title suggests. I will say its visual style is pretty amazing, it makes your e-mail box look like a high gloss magazine. With an 85 AppScore, in fourth are our last two apps of the week both of which are geared towards kids. Little Polar Bear [LITE], by Hans de Beer is an ebook / app telling the tale of a polar bear's journey from the cold arctic to the muggy jungle. It has some mini-games built into it too to keep kids going and the images look like they might be hand drawn which is pretty cool. Dr. Panda's Supermarket is our other app tied for fourth. Upfront I must say that it seems more like a game than an app to me but it makes our list based on "Education" being its primary category in the App Store. Regardless, it does aim to teach kids about what goes on in a supermarket. So there you go, five more apps for you. Let us know if you grab one!

Now you can make sure all your photos look just the way you want. In a world constantly becoming more visual, perfecting your photos before sharing them online is as important as combing your hair before you leave the house."

This week we have a full plate for our Top 5 iOS Apps of the Week. In first with a 95 AppScore is fontgram. If you like putting creative captions on your photos or creating memes then you'll be into this app. Our next two apps seem like interesting apps for my young nieces. Coming in second with an 85 AppScore is Zachy the Robot: Quest for the Museum Treasures. Produced along with the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, the app is an introduction to paleontology within an interactive environment where kids travel the world learning about things like dinosaurs and ancient plants. Plus, it has a kid friendly cartoon art style. Jubitron the Girl Robot: The Lovely Little Picnic takes our third spot with an 82 AppScore and is an ebook/app featuring the adventures of young robot and her friends Mr. Alligator and Little Birdie. We round out this week's list with two games tied for fourth at an 80 AppScore. One is Healthy Desserts - by Green Kitchen - an app I can definitely get into and need. The app provides, much like it title implies, healthier dessert recipes. Our other app in fourth is Files App, a file storage and viewer app that lets you transfer files between your PC, Mac or iPhone/iPad as well as do things like view PDF and Office files, listen to music and play videos. It's kind of like your all-in-one toolbox for files. That's it for this week, let us know if you pick any of them up!

This week we have three apps in our Top 5 iOS Apps of the Week series. Even though we only have three, it's a mighty list that I feel will keep your organized, efficient and well-connected. Our first app aims to ensure that you don't miss any appointments. The app is Sunrise Calendar. with an 83 AppScore. It is a calendar + weather app that syncs with your Google Calendar, Facebook and LinkedIn accounts bringing all your events into one app. This next app is one I definitely could use as I'm terrible at remembering names. Knome : name recall is our app in second with an 80 AppScore. Essentially it lets you map connections between people. So if you're going to your friend's place but can't remember her friends' names, hopefully you've mapped them before and you can simply look at your friend's profile to see all her connecitons. Our final app has a 75 AppScore: Cloze - The Inbox is Human Again combines your email, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter messages, updates and so forth into one place. Also, it learns and prioritizes your contacts over time to bring your most important notifications to the front. I'd certainly appreciate anything that makes checking all my accounts easier. Check out more about the apps below and as always let us know your thoughts.

This week we have six apps in our Top 5 iOS Apps list. If you are a fan of the works of Terry Pratchett and his fantasy novels then you will be into our first app Discworld: The Ankh-Morpork Map with a 100 AppScore. The app is a reference guide and map into the world of his famous Discworld novel series. Up next is A Troop is a Group of Monkeys. It has a 95 AppScore and is a fun interactive book where kids will learn plural nouns for animal groups like "a pandemonium of parrots". Seems like a cute way to get kids into reading and learning. Sound Uncovered comes in third with a 93 AppScore. It is an interactive book all about the world of sound. The app seems like it would be quite a sensory experience. I'm definitely interested in checking it out. Closing out our list are three apps tied for fourth with a 90 AppScore. Hollanote is one and it allows you to make your Facebook status updates more stylish with different text colors and fonts. Another app in fourth is Write for Dropbox - A Plain Text Editor and Notes App, it's like it's title says - a text editor that syncs through Dropbox. Our final fourth place app is Versu, it's a choose your own adventure style interactive book. I haven't read a choose your own adventure book in a long time and I'm excited to see how something like this works on an iPad. Check out more about the apps below and as always let us know your thoughts.

So yesterday we had our top games, that means today we have the Top 5 iOS Apps of the Week! The first app on our list is Dingtone with a 95 AppScore. What is it? Well it's a way to make cheap calls, texts or turn your phone into a walkie talkie without using your cell minutes. Up next is Horizon Calendar. It has an 87 AppScore and combines a weather app with a calendar app. It actually sounds like a pretty smart idea and the design looks cool too. With an 84 AppScore, we have a tie for third. DrawQuest - Free Daily Drawing Challenges is a drawing challenge app. Basically it gives you a pharase that you have to draw. The neat part is it has a bit of a social network built in. You can share your drawing, look at other's drawings and even watch a drawing played back stroke-by-stroke. Mailbox is the other app tied for third and it reinvents the e-mail experince with the goal of getting you to that elusive state of zero e-mails waiting. So far it's been getting a lot of buzz. Our final app of the week is Tangled FX with a 75 AppScore. It turns your photos into a tangled web of colors and swirls. It's hard to do justice to it in words so be sure to check out the screenshots. There you have it, our Top 5 iPhone and iPad apps of the Week. As always, check below for more deets!

This week only one app met the strict criteria needed to make our Top 5 iOS Apps of the Week series. Thus we give you, cue trumpets, Endless Alphabet with its 90 AppScore! Endless Alphabet is made for kids and looks to provide a pretty fun educational experience for them to learn the alphabet and build their vocabulary. The app uses cute monsters, short animations and interactive elements as teaching mechanisms. The art style is pretty cool too. It kind of looks like a high-grade arts and crafts project. I could see this app being a great gift for parents. Plus it's free. I'm not sure how they plan to make money off this app, but hey, bonus for you and me. Check out more info below and let us know what you think. Oh and Happy Valentine's Day!

I've been told by many a people that slow cookers are easy to use and now with this official recipe app, I can make some tasty food! Our final app this week, Chorma, has a 75 AppScore. We have an unusual mix in our Top 5 iPhone and iPad Apps of the Week. In first we have two apps tied with a 90 AppScore. One, Fuzz Radio, is a music app that lets you listen to thousands of stations curated by people like you. I always find other people's playlist interesting and a good way to discover new music. The app also lets you creates your own stations to listen to or share. Our other app in first is Sofia the First: Story Theater, it's an interactive book from Disney about a little princess. This app basically checks off every requirement of fun for my nieces - princesses, Disney and ball gowns. In third with an 85 AppScore, iFile Download Manager is like its title implies - an app that lets you download any type of file (photos, text, documents, videos and more) from the browser on your iOS device and view them from anywhere. It also lets you print the files, email them, rename them, copy them and so on. Things that you wouldn't normally associate with an iPhone or iPad. Note to do any of this you do have to download the files using the app. Closing our list with an 80 AppScore is The Engine Tester, it's a car maintenance app that by listening to the sounds coming out of your exhaust will diagnose the health of your engine. It also has a maintenance checklist to remind you what to keep an eye on. I don't think this app could replace a mechanic but if it helps me be a little wiser and less likely to get ripped off then it is worth it. Only four apps this week but it's a pretty diverse group that hopefully offers something for everyone. Enjoy reading about the apps below and let us know your thoughts.

Fuzz Radio

Then check out fuzz.com to create stations and build a following of your own!"

Check out a quote from AppAdvice: "Anyone who loves music and is looking for a new way to listen to their favorite tunes or discover new artists should download this app. The user interface is clean and easy to understand. The music selection is fairly wide. I found a spaghetti Westerns station and a Disney music station. I didn’t come across any stations featuring some of the more obscure music in my iTunes library, but that just means I need to start my own" (January 8, 2013).

Welcome back to our Top 5 iPhone and iPad Apps of the Week. This week we have three apps total and two of them are tied for first with a 90 AppScore. One app in first place is Ziner, it's a Google Reader / RSS client that makes feeds more visual and from the screenshots it looks like it accomplishes this with aplomb. Personally for me, anytime something is more visual it catches my attention and I enjoy my reading experience more. Our other app in first is Shopping Pro (Grocery List). As you might guess from the title, it helps you make digital shopping and grocery lists and seamlessly share them between family members. I think everyone needs an app like this because we have all come back from the store missing a few essential items. It certainly happens to me! Our final app on the list this week is Eatible with an 80 AppScore. It's an app that helps you manage your food allergies. The app features thousands of menu items from popular restaurants such as Burger King to Chiptotle to Subway and can cross-reference the items against food allergies like gluten or peanuts. Seems like a pretty good app if you have any particular allergies. A short but mighty list this week. Enjoy reading about the apps below and let us know your thoughts.

This week only two apps made our Top 5 iPhone and iPad Apps of the Week but they are two really cool apps. Our first place app this week with an 85 AppScore is MyScript Calculator. It's an app that allows you to write math formulas on your screen, like taking pen to paper, but the bonus is that the app will calculate the answer for you. No typing, just writing on screen with your finger. I mean I hardly have to think with all these apps. No but really, sometimes I just need to do quick math and don't have time to type so this app could really save me some time. Pretty amazing I say. Our second place app with an 83 AppScore is iFlipBook. The basics: it turns you photos and video into moving artwork. Remember those books (ok maybe too young for some of you) where you would quickly flip through and the images on the page would seem like they were animated? This app does that by letting you string together photos or giving your videos that stop-motion look. You can even apply cool effects to individual frames or save pictures from a video. With this app I could put together a few fun animated series of my friends. So there you have our top apps of the week - a small but mighty list. Enjoy reading about the apps below and let us know your thoughts.

Rank based on averaging professional review scores of non-games released 2 - 3 weeks ago to allow reviews to accumulate.

1.
MyScript Calculator
MyScript Calculator 85
Free: iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch (Universal)

From the app description: "With MyScript© Calculator, perform mathematical operations naturally using your handwriting. **The Free handwriting calculator for your iPhone or iPad** Easy, simple and intuitive, just write the mathematical expression on the screen then let MyScript technology perform its magic converting symbols and numbers to digital text and delivering the result in real time. The same experience as writing on paper with the advantages of a digital device (Scratch-outs, results in real time, …). Solve mathematical equations by hand without actually having to crunch the numbers yourself"

Check out a quote from Apple’N'Apps: "MyScript Calculator works exactly as advertised, and may be the best example of blending a touch screen into the real productive world. This is the best way I’ve yet found to solve math equations. Also, in case you were wondering. this app offers wrist guard so you can rest your hand on your iPad when writing" (December 21, 2012).

2.
iFlipBook
iFlipBook 83
$0.99: iPhone

From the app description: "What is the flip book official definition? It is a book with a series of drawings that vary gradually from one page to the next, so that when the pages are turned rapidly, the drawings appear to animate by simulating motion or some other change. Well, nowadays, you can do that with your mobile device using REAL VIDEOS and PHOTOS instead of drawings. iFlipBook was specially designed to allow capturing low frame rate videos in a very simple and intuitive way. You can select the required frame rate using the FPS slider located in the right side of the camera screen. iFlipBook supports both real time video recording or direct frame-by-frame recording as well as importing your pictures from the device’s Photo Library. You may apply one of the 27 effects available within the application on the whole film or on certain frames, only, making your iFlipBook movie really fabulous. Share it on Facebook or YouTube, Email it directly from the app and thrill your friends! It is as simple as that! Enjoy it! "

Check out a quote from Crazy Mike's Apps: "The iFlipBook photo sharing app is a great way to make a variety of fun “flip books” of your own and quickly share them as videos on Facebook and YouTube. Grab this free photo sharing app while you can before it goes to paid status" (December 22, 2012).
