Control Your Thermostat with Nest Mobile for iPhone and iPad

I'm a cold person - what I mean by that is my body temperature is always cold. My hands and feet are the worst, they are like icicles. Now is the time of year when the air gets chillier and I have to relearn how to use my apartment heater. I'm also bad at setting the right temperature and I constantly forget to set the thermostat properly before I leave the house. Guess how excited I was to find this app yesterday morning as I woke up to a freezing living room? Nest Mobile, with a 100 AppScore, allows you to control your home temperature remotely from your iPhone or iPad. You can also set up a schedule of temperatures year-round for your thermostat and you can view how long your heating system or air-condition was on for the last 10 days. In addition to keeping you warm or cold, I think an added benefit over time of Nest Mobile would be to help you save energy because I'm sure we have all left the house and forgot about the heater or air conditioner being on. The one thing the app requires you to do in order for it to work is the purchase of a Nest Learning Thermostat to talk to the app itself. At $249 for the second generation one or $229 for the first generation one, it's certainly more expensive than a basic thermostat so you'll need to judge if it's worth the cost. Personally, I'm hoping some of the energy savings will account for the cost but admittedly I haven't used one yet so I'm not sure.
