Best iPhone and iPad Apps for Kids: You’re the Storyteller: The Surprise (Home Edition) HD

Every Friday we profile a top iPhone or iPad app for kids. This week's top app is great for exercising the muscles of imagination. You’re the Storyteller: The Surprise (Home Edition) HD, with a 95 AppScore, is an interactive ebook where there are actually no words in the book itself. Instead, it's up to the reader to create the story (either through recording their voice or writing it) based on the images in the app. Looking at the images, the basic premise is about a boy who brings a stray dog home and must hide it from his mom but really, I'm sure a kid's imagination can turn it into a million things. It puts the control of the experience in your hands or in the hands of your children. Pretty clever I'd say. The app also strives to help with linguistics and was developed by a speech language pathologist. Maybe if I had this app growing up I'd be a much more eloquent presenter/speaker!
