I will for the most part agree with the statement that technology has made my life easier. However sometimes I feel like I have too many online accounts to manage. I'm overwhelmed (and it's my own fault) by the number of apps and social media accounts I have. Of course in the world we live in today - there is a technological solution or an app for that! This week's Best Free iPhone and iPad App, Cue: Know What's Next, with a 93 AppScore, attempts to simplify your life by connecting your online email accounts, contacts, calendars and social media posts into one organized interface. Cue: Know What's Next synergizes your many accounts to seemingly make it easier for you to contact people, determine where you are going and what's coming up next. For example the app can organize all the contact information, upcoming calendar activities and communications I might have with one friend on one page essentially, seems pretty convenient to me. And now I finally get why the title of the app is called "Cue" - I'm sure the app hopes to easily cue up your life - nice play on a word & app by the app creator. It looks like the press is into it too, Cue: Know What's Next has been featured in major publications including Time.com, USAToday and Bloomberg BusinessWeek. There are some complaints about it in the App Store but as it's free and the developer is actively updating it (last updated October 19) we think it's worth a shot and believe there's a good chance the bugs will get worked out. So check out the app and let us know if it helps simplify your life a bit.
As always our AppScore rankings are based on aggregating independent professional review scores from around the web.

With Cue (from the app description) you can: "Turn your email, contacts and calendar into an intelligent snapshot of your day. Enhance your calendar by automatically connecting related emails, phone numbers, and addresses. Change or cancel reservations, check into flights, track the arrival of packages, or text friends that you are running late. See up-to-date contact info alongside recent communications and the contact’s latest posts on Facebook and Twitter. Search across all your linked accounts." Here are some professional thoughts from iPhoneAppCafe: "Even if you think you’re on top of your online life and don’t need any help, you’ll be amazed at how much easier things will get after starting to use Greplin. I can not stress that enough. It’s one of those apps that just needs to be on your home page, or at least outside of a folder so it can easily be accessed" (April 19, 2012). Check out another professional opinion from AppSafari: "The Cue : Know What’s Next iPhone app synthesizes your online life and helps you stay on top of all aspects of your work, family, and personal life with beautiful interface and smart navigation" (September 26, 2012). |
