I’m absolutely in love with Solar, and will be using it as my main iPhone weather app for the time being. It’s drop-dead gorgeous on my iPhone 4S and provides only the information I need to know. The only problem I have had with it so far is that the degrees seem to be a bit off with what the stock weather widget tells me. But does being a few degrees off really matter? I just need to get an idea of what it is like outside. Date: July 23, 2012

If you’re scratching your head as to why anyone would pay real money for a weather app that doesn’t even feature the most basic radar display, then perhaps this one’s not for you. But if you loved Clear and are intrigued by this new wave of minimalistic developers, then Solar can’t be missed. Date: August 23, 2012

Solar turned out to be more than just a pretty face. Though initially wary because I’d seen so many reviews faulting Solar for its inaccuracy, I couldn’t find any evidence of that; on the contrary, its current forecast was spot-on. In addition, Solar makes it easy to check the weather for several cities quickly with just a few swipes. Date: October 09, 2012

Solar isn’t the most feature rich app, but brilliantly blends neat and utility to deliver a worthwhile weather app to use on a daily basis. The coloring and gestures make the app stand out, and Solar is worth picking up, especially if you enjoy Clear. Date: July 24, 2012

Eye-catching though Solar may be, I prefer the five-day outlook the built-in Weather app offers. I also think Weather’s hourly outlook is a bit easier to manage than the finger slide that Solar relies on. Still, Solar’s location-based component is a nice feature. And iPhone owners with a keener eye than mine will doubtlessly appreciate the colorful approach Solar brings to the weater. Date: August 07, 2012
