This is an in app purchase revenue model that is pretty giving to you the consumer and the game can actually be played for FREE — you do not need to purchase any coins or mega points if you do not want to, but advancing may take more time, so a little patience is required. The nice thing about this game is that the game is so much fun to play that it didn’t matter to me that it took me longer to advance. The game has a great balance of difficulty and fun, which is hard to create, but Get Set Games has done a fantastic job of doing just that in this colorfully exploding action game jam-packed with power-ups. From my experience so far, Mega Run is close to a perfect sequel. Get Set Games even promises regular updates, with new worlds and characters. Also, for the competitive gamers out there, Mega Run features leaderboards and 31 achievements. In a future update, I would like to see some kind of endless mode implemented. Although this looks like a cute casual game, I found it became very challenging to collect the 3 gems after only a few levels in world 1. As I’ll probably lose interest in this game long before I hit any kind of IAP wall, I’m not particularly bothered. As a pretty diversion, it works well; I did find myself continually going back to previous levels to try to get a better rating, collect all the gems, etc. Although the levels are sequenced in a standard 1:1, 1:2, 1:3 format, there’s a degree of randomisation within each level so it’s not purely a case of memorising gem locations – tricky!
