At this point, I have no problem saying that developer TheCodingMonkeys has me hook, line and sinker. They’ve now brought two classic tabletop games to the digital space, and they've done so in grand style. Carcassone remains the board game-to-iOS conversion that I point to as the brass ring, and it shows how a digital platform can pay respect to and evolve a game to work better with a touch screen. Now, Lost Cities has achieved the same feat. I’ll happily buy whatever they release from here on out -- they’ve earned an instant buy from me. Date: August 27, 2012

If you are a card game fan then Lost Cities is a must have title for you iPhone, and if you love quality games too then that’s another reason to grab it. At $3.99 it’s not the cheapest card in the App Store but quality sometimes cost money and in the case of Lost Cities it’s worth every penny. Date: October 05, 2012

The Coding Monkeys have ported another fantastic card game to the iOS, and it’s definitely one that fans of the genre, as well as newcomers, should consider picking up. Hopefully we’ll be able to see an iPad version in the future, as well as a two player/single device mode, as that seems to be all that this game is missing. Date: August 24, 2012

One of these days a Reiner Knizia game will hit the App Store and not be fantastic, but Lost Cities keeps the streak going. It’s less complicated than most of the designer’s other titles, quick to learn, unexpectedly deep, and it can be played against actual people. I dare say this is the most accessible and newbie friendly Knizia iOS game yet. Date: August 30, 2012

This is a fantastic game. It is even easier to play than the original board game, although the concept is the same. Think of it as a twist on solitaire, only you don’t have to play this game alone. If you enjoy strategy-based games, then pick this one up in the App Store today. Date: August 23, 2012

Lost Cities is an elegant title with clean, sharp visuals and a calming soundtrack that's perfect for soothing the nerves after a few bad card draws. Whether you spend your time knocking over the game's many achievements or play a round or three or ten with your friends, it's a definite must have for fans of board games. Date: August 23, 2012

The graphics and music are good, but this is not a flashy game, and there’s not much to interest action-oriented gamers. If you like card games and puzzles, though, this is a must-play. Date: August 23, 2012

Lost Cities probably won't have the kind of staying power of Carcassone or other asynchronous classics like Words With Friends. No matter how different the results, every game feels pretty much the same, and that really cripples its long-term appeal. It's not a bad game, though. The Coding Monkeys made beautiful work of bringing it to the small screen, packing it with smart features on top of its already clever design. So there are games out there you might play longer—does that mean this one isn't worth playing at all? Date: August 28, 2012
