Lili is a quirky adventure RPG hybrid with stunning visuals, silky-smooth graphics and a cinematic storyline. Tuned for new devices, Lili is one of the most visually-stunning games available on iOS.

On the mysterious island of Geos, Lili will meet a number of hilarious locals, explore beautiful environments, solve some puzzles, and even challenge an oppressive regime or two along her way. Lili uses an amusing "non-combat" system for dealing with enemies, and sorts out a few personal issues along the way.

Lili is an evocative title that drags you along despite its simple story and mechanics thanks to the intriguing world of Geos and its strangely addictive ‘combat’. If you have the means and you’re in the market for something a little less ‘macho’, definitely pick this App up. Date: September 20, 2012

Lili is one of the most beautiful games for iOS, and it is also one of the most complete gaming experiences thus far beside classics like Dead Space. Given the subject matter, and friendly controls it is suitable to most gamers. I am blown away by Lili, and it definitely reinforces the strength of iOS as a platform for console quality experiences. Although the gameplay in Lili doesn't vary much, this casual and engaging adventure held our interest from start to finish. It's a beautiful game with simple mechanics that is well worth checking out. At around five or six hours it's not terribly long, but still offers great personality and plenty to explore. As in most RPGs, there are plenty of areas to explore, treasures to find, quests to complete, and items to buy in the shops. Lili has all of those great RPG elements but it adds a lot of unique gameplay characteristics, like the non-combat flower hunting, which is quite a bit of fun, and a wonderfully whimsical storyline. Lili is truly a one-of-a-kind game. It’s one of those titles that you just have to have, and though it’s on the higher end of iOS game pricing at $4.99, it’s well worth the cost. If you only buy one game this week, make it Lili. Date: September 20, 2012

In every sense of the word, Lili is an original title with a lot to enjoy, and succeeds in some of the technical areas where similarly ambitious titles like Horn couldn’t quite cut the bar. A must-buy for adventure fans, and anyone looking for a deluxe 3D adventure even the little ones can enjoy. Date: September 21, 2012

Grumbling aside, though, it's hard not to love Lili. Like the character, the game can be obnoxious at times. But it's so pretty, so well-written, so cleverly designed on the whole that complaining feels a lot like nitpicking. There are problems, and hopefully they'll be resolved. But how many games do we have that are this ambitious and come together this well? A handful, maybe? Bitmonster has joined elite company here, and should be applauded for doing so with such an original, charming game. Lili is lovely. Spend a few hours exploring the island of Geos, hunting down its spirits, and collecting each and every one of its secrets. It's a journey worth taking. Date: September 25, 2012

My only complaint about Lili is that it’s riddled with typos and grammatical errors — not necessarily deal-breaker type of stuff regarding my enjoyment level, but definitely something that’s a little distracting. Overall, not only is this game beautiful, funny and rich in content, it’s flexible, too..I would recommend this game to players of all ages, especially fans of adventure, RPG and other iOS games that feature colorful fantasy worlds. The diversity of the game is the last thing that kept me coming back to the game was the personality. The game simply looks great and is one of the best approaches at having an open world game on the platform. The game is simple, and will last you between 5-6 hours, but it’s one of those games you’ll remember playing. Date: October 01, 2012

Granted, the game could have been better, and will mostly likely evolve (at least we hope) with future updates. For now, Lili's an attractive and largely entertaining trek through one of the most impressive virtual worlds ever seen on a portable device. Thankfully, there's more to it than eye candy, and this substance outshines the negatives. Worth five bucks? Absolutely. Date: September 21, 2012

Lili is not the kind of game that will appeal to more hardcore gamers, the ones that usually scoop up Unreal games like Infinity Blade II, Wild Blood, and Horn. And truth be told, it really wasn’t my kind of game, either. But I could see its quality regardless. I’d honestly classify it as a children’s game, albeit one that’s a lot smarter and sharper than kids games tend to be. If you’re looking for a light, cheerful change of pace in your iOS adventure gaming, than Lili might be worth a look. Better yet, gift a copy to that special ten-year-old in your life, the one who likes to read fantasy novels and play pretend in the basement. She (or he) will probably find Lili to be perfectly delightful and just challenging enough. Date: October 07, 2012

Running around the great looking environments is fun, slightly marred by the annoying movement controls, and the flower-picking combat sequences are always enjoyable, even when you lose. I wonder if the game might be even more popular if the theme and characters were not quite so weird; at times the objectives and story feel completely unimportant because they have so little association with reality. I know video games don’t need to be realistic but when you’re trying to get a player to have some kind of empathy for the protagonist, at least make the world she inhabits seem real enough to be significant. Oh, and could you make a few more of her outfits purchasable with in-game currency as well as with real money? Date: January 05, 2013

What I liked: Lili is one of the best looking iOS games that I’ve ever played, even now, months after it was originally released. What I didn’t like: The controls are clunky at times and it also has no Game Center integration. To buy or not to buy: Lili is a definite buy for those of you who want to experience a gorgeous exploration adventure game. Date: March 01, 2013

Even though it is a beautifully told story, gorgeously rendered, some may say harshly it is just a glorified mini-game. Unfortunately, they may be right. It is a well-implemented game but is let down by shallow gameplay and short longevity. Even so, for the less picky of us, there is fun to be had here so could be suitable for younger players. Lili is a game that looks great, and optimally could have been a more open Infinity Blade-esque game, but in the end, the repetition and unnecessary elements drag it down. Date: September 20, 2012

The island of Geos is stunningly beautiful. It's got big bouncy trees and constantly perfect weather and a rustic charm. The residents are utterly delightful, too - a particular favourite is a talking mailbox who literally vomits letters into Lili's lap. This all makes Geos a joy to explore. But there's no hiding the fact that Lili is a rather slight and flimsy game. It feels like a beautiful world that's waiting for exciting things to happen in it. You'll enjoy your visit, but you probably won't want to stay for long. Date: September 20, 2012

Ultimately, then, my question would be: why? Why, with some of the most consummate production on the platform, and such a clever concept, should BitMonster not have striven to dig deeper? To take the game beyond a dolled up version of the money-grabbing “mobile social” experiences we see multiple times a day. Why does a game that promises and sets up for an adventure feel so small...like it never left the comfortable shores of the status quo? Date: September 20, 2012

Lili’s basic “flower picking” combat and peaceful exploration offer up a great contrast to gaming’s often violent set-ups. The well-written characters and story details make it easy to get wrapped up in the world of Geos and its strange inhabitants. But the short length and simple nature of the adventure keep Lili from being a truly great experience. Date: September 26, 2012

I got through the game in about six hours, toggling the difficulty level down on two particularly tough battles. If I had done additional level grinding and completed all the subquests, I probably could have pushed it to eight hours. That's short for an RPG, but Lili is well worth the $4.99 for its breathtaking graphics and unusual world. Date: September 28, 2012

Lili is one of those games you want to like, desperately. Offering a gorgeous, heavily-stylized world with adorable characters and a fantastically endearing protagonist, it's a shame what's under the hood doesn't match the glowing exterior. Lili is at once charming and boring; enchanting and frustrating. In essence, it's a great example of a well-developed narrative dragged down by flat gameplay. Date: October 03, 2012
