While we still prefer the HD version on the iPad, this is a great transition to the smaller screen. Kingdom Rush remains one of, if not the best tower defense game on the market and having it on the go is our idea of a good thing. Date: July 09, 2012

The bottom line. With slick production values, strategic play, and plenty of content, Kingdom Rush is an excellent tower defense experience that stands with the strongest such entries on any platform -- and it's a wicked deal for just a buck. Date: July 11, 2012

With 50 missions in a number of different environments and maps, there is a ton of content to unearth. And thanks to the beautiful animated visuals and hilarious sound bytes from different soldiers, its not one that becomes repetitive or boring -either in its appearance or its gameplay. It’s been quite a year so far for one of the most popular genres in the App Store, with developers continuing to find unique ways to keep the experience feeling fresh every time. Kingdom Rush is right up there with Fieldrunners 2 as the best tower defense games on iOS, a lengthy, rewarding adventure that is as deep and engaging as it is beautiful. Date: August 01, 2012

I have a few problems with the game such as buying new heroes but Kingdom Rush is still one of the best tower defense games I have ever played. Date: August 29, 2012

I have to recommend this app for any mobile gamers who like to kill time by advancing their save file. You will feel quite accomplished after each level and advancing forward is never too difficult (although you can edit the difficulty settings yourself). All in all, this title has really impressed me far beyond what I was expecting. Date: September 28, 2012

Kingdom Rush is an incredibly addictive tower defense game. Its star-based upgrade system, paired with crisp artwork and butter smooth gameplay, will definitely have you soaking hour after hour into the game. If Kingdom Rush HD made you wish you had an iPad, you’re in luck, because Kingdom Rush for iPhone and iPod touch is probably the best tower defense game available. Date: June 29, 2012

The depth of strategy, the potential to tweak and experiment with your upgrade load-outs, the wonderful artwork, and everything else Armor Games has managed to somehow cram into this tiny package all add up to one very special game in an incredibly saturated genre. If you couldn't play Kingdom Rush the first time around, you owe it to yourself to play it now. Date: July 04, 2012

Despite the genre already boasting some of the best iPhone games around, Kingdom Rush still manages to shine as one of the best Tower Defence games, even in this more compact form. Date: July 15, 2012

It’s been a long time since I kept a tower defense game on my iPhone, but Kingdom Rush will probably linger on my device for awhile. It simply does tower defense right. Date: July 31, 2012

Kingdom Rush is a fun tower defence rewarding strategy both when setting up the levels, and during the actual defending. The cute presentation is great, and gives further enjoyment. When the game opens up with heroes, and more tower combinations than I can keep track of it turns into one of the most complex tower defence games available. Definitely recommended for the strategy fan. Date: July 12, 2012

While it lacks the positively magical charm of a game like Plants Vs. Zombies, Kingdom Rush is a very well made tower defense game that relies on actual strategy and has an upgrade system which shows that the developers spent a considerable amount of time play testing their own game. Whenever you win in Kingdom Rush it will be because of superior strategy, and whenever you lose it will be because of poor choices rather than the game pulling byzantine cheap shots upon you. While the iOS release of Kingdom Rush does feature some IAPs, they thankfully don’t come in a form that affects the balance of the game whatsoever. The only minor downsides to Kingdom Rush is that the tiny graphics make it very hard to differentiate various enemy units when played on the iPod/iPhone’s small screen, and that – unlike many other tower defense games on the iOS – you can’t build/upgrade structures while the game is paused. I never thought I'd recommend a tower defense game for iOS, after the gold standard set by Plants vs. Zombies. While not quite as deep or as humorous, Kingdom Rush is nevertheless just as well built and just as fun. It belongs on your iPhone and, ideally, your iPad, where the game's large battlegrounds can really shine. Date: October 19, 2012

Although it wasn’t the one for me, I can appreciate how well done and polished Kingdom Rush is, it really is a beautiful game. One thing that I really liked about it is that it provided more of a challenge than I am used to from these type of games, but it also takes a longer time to play. With all that in mind, I’d say it depends on your taste, whether to get this one or pass. Date: July 23, 2012
