Devil's Attorney is a turn-based strategy game set in the 80's where you play as Max McMann, a defense attorney that's high on charm but low on moral fiber.

Your objective is to free all of your clients and use the money you earn to buy accessories and new furniture for your apartment; boosting your ego and unlocking new courtroom skills in the process.

Devil's Attorney could use a bit more strategy and depth in the courtroom battles, but the cutscenes and storyline are outstanding. Max is a self-absorbed attorney who wants to win in the worst possible way, but we can't help but be impressed by the charm he lays on everyone he meets. If you think Phoenix Wright is too goody-goody, Devil's Attorney is a hilarious alternative that's well worth the fee. Date: October 12, 2012

As we reach the conclusion of this review, you’re probably wondering what the cons are. The catch, if you will. I’m sorry, dear cynical reader, but I’m afraid that there aren’t any. Every element of Devil’s Attorney has been tooled to near perfection, culminating in what is easily one of the best iOS games you’ll play this year. One could say that not playing it would be criminal. And should you be accused of such a felony, I can only hope a lawyer as corrupt as Max McMann is serving as prosecutor. Date: October 11, 2012

Although the gameplay could use some depth, that doesn’t stop me from saying Devil’s Attorney is one of the best games out there right now. It’s quality is simply outstanding, and the gameplay is a lot of fun, whether you’ve played Phoenix Wright in the past or not. Is it worth the price? Absolutely. Go pick this up right now. Overall Devil’s Attorney is genuinely fun to play. Unlocking items and upgrading Max and his pad is a very satisfying feeling of accomplishment after you’ve won another case. Every time I pick up the game I can’t help but tell myself “just one more case” over and over again. It’s addicting to say the least. Date: October 21, 2012

The Bottom Line: Devil’s Attorney’s 80’s vibe and humorous dialog keeps the interest high through all the court cases. Heck even without that, Devil’s Attorney holds up as a addictive turn-based on-the-go strategy game. Date: October 11, 2012

I wasn’t expecting much when I started reviewing the game, but the gameplay mechanics are deep and not to mention the cutscenes before each trial are dripping with 80s snarkiness, the same kind you get when you watch movies from that era, make this game a winner. Date: October 15, 2012

It didn’t take me long to get addicted to Devil’s Attorney: the crisp animation and art drew me in from the start, and its personality and gameplay keeps me coming back for more. Anyone looking for a fun, engaging game that can also make them laugh shouldn’t hesistate to grab a copy of Devil’s Attorney, one of the most unique titles I’ve played all year. Like Capcom's courtroom drama, Devil's Attorney is an addictive puzzler whose courtroom metaphor for battle makes for one of the most unique and absorbing games you'll find on mobile or any other platform. Like Max McMann says, morality is a cheap perfume, but his game's already got a perfume, and it's called success. Date: October 15, 2012

From the start of the Devil’s Attorney theme song at the beginning, (yes, the game has a theme song) it’s apparent that a lot of work went into the game. The artwork is very polished and the storyline is original and witty. There is a lot of funny banter between the attorneys at the beginning of each round and it’s almost as if the developers hired a screenplay writer to write all the content. With all this unique content I felt like I was watching a TV sitcom at times. The game is a little short but all of its positive attributes certainly earn a verdict of two thumbs up in my book. Devil’s Attorney looks, sounds and plays great. In a sea of games presenting samey turn-based battles, the game’s 80s soundtrack, witty banter and innovative courtroom combat successfully stand out from the pack. It’s a perfect example of a clever idea executed with quality presentation and design. Date: October 17, 2012

Devil’s Attorney has got nothing to do with Phoenix Wright. There I said it in the final paragraph. Many had hoped for a new text based adventure game set in a courtroom, but alas Devil’s Attorney is not it. It is however a truly fun turn based strategy game set in that very same courtroom. I highly recommend it, and if I ever get into trouble with the law I want some smug git like Max McMann to defend me. Up yours Mr. Prosecutor. Date: October 11, 2012

It might not have the drama of the courtroom, but Devil's Attorney is still a great way to waste a few hours getting criminals off the hook. Date: October 11, 2012

Taking turn based RPG combat away from fantasy and sci-fi, and playing things in a courtroom is enough of a spin to make Devil's Attorney worth a play (and the stylish character that the game is infused with doesn't hurt either). Date: October 29, 2012

The game includes a load of humor with the various criminals and their charges, and the strategy to win as the game progresses — it does get challenging. While I enjoyed playing this game, the pricing is a bit high and I really don’t fancy iTunes description that leaves out how much gameplay is in an app. The game can also feel a bit repetitive with little change to the court room and recycled prosecutors in the second game pack. It would make much more sense to work your way up through the lower courts to the Supreme court — but that is just my take. Devil’s Attorney is fun, funny, and humorous — but the value isn’t there for me. Date: November 03, 2012

The Devil’s Attorney iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad game is extremely appealing to those more intrigued by board games. It’s not all about accurately finessing a physics-controlled gesture–instead it’s filled with strategy, wit, and humor. Date: November 08, 2012
