The Story:

Bee-Different is different from all the other bees in Bee-Town. His Stripes are vertical instead of horizontal, his antennas are twisted instead of straight, and unlike the other bees, and Bee-Different is also allergic to pollen. He is bullied in this story by all the other bees because he allergic to pollen, and because he "looks different". In this story Bee-Different manages to turn his differences into positives, as he manages to find pollen for a hive that is finding it hard to find fresh pollen to make their honey. The moral of this story is “Just because someone is different, it does not mean they are not special.”

For an eBook app, Being Different is fairly priced at $2.99. That certainly won’t break the bank, and I think this app has enough sophistication and great features such as the story to justify adding this sweet app to your family’s iPad app collection without hesitation. Families, you will love this app. Go get it. Date: September 04, 2012

Bottom line: Being Different is a lovely little eBook that shows that it’s okay to be different and it’s important to be a friend. The extra activities make this an enjoyable all round app for $2.99. A little more polish to the design could make this an even better app. Date: September 06, 2012

Overall, I think this is a clever and fun interactive iPad book/games app for young kids with a great learning lesson and lots of fun extras. I love how the developers used the character names to reinforce the message and positive behaviors (Bee-Different, Bee-Kind, and Bee-Nice) and I think kids will enjoy reading the simple and short story, the 4 fun activity/games and that funky game music to go along.
